Poker Glossary

Under the gun (UTG)

Player or just after the Surblindeur, so the one who must speak first during the first round of a sudden Hold'em or Omaha (UTG player, under the gun, "under fire" because it the pressure to speak first without knowing what his opponents will be after him). At this place, it must have ventured into that with very good hands (AA, KK, QQ, A-Ks, JJ, A-Qs, for example)

Big blind (BB)

Player who must payed the Big blind. In general, the big blind is twice the Blind.

Cut off

Player just before the button in order to speak. Situation in which you can try to steal the blinds if nobody has bet or restarted before you, (all the players before you have layers) to scare blindeurs and win bets.

Dealer

Player who distributes the cards and changing with each move in the direction of the game (usually in the clockwise). Is indicated by the button.

Small blind (SB)

A designated bet (posted before any cards are dealt) made by the player sitting immediately to the left of the dealer. The Small Blind is normally half the minimum bet, otherwise known as the "Blind".
